Nowadays I see a lot of blaming and the pointing of fingers
This way, that way, every which way but to the right place
Nowadays I see people looking less in the mirror
For a possible solution to the challenges amongst them
It comes to know surprise that more people are acting like the victim
They believe their slightly imperfect behaviors could not have brought about their situation
Down and out again, only to come to the same conclusion
Too many individuals in the world today look for others to do their part
Instead of searching and exploring their own capabilities from the start
To be accountable for their own stress and pursuit to happiness
If everyone else is the reason for their peaceful disruptions,
Resulting in the abruption of relationships
Then maybe its time to tell them to turn from the telescope lens their looking in,
and come face to face with the person on the other side of their reflection
To depict for themselves how they are involved in their own downfalls
Viewing the overall picture of who dropped the ball
It’s always a draw, as it will be revealed that no one person is completely at fault
Back in the day people were not afraid to look into the mirror
They would wait or wipe off any smoke that wouldn’t dissipate
From the glass image so their vision could be clearer
Those were the days that people paid more attention about their own character
By looking in the mirror, they were consciously aware of their outer appearance
Adjusting and changing what they wanted to achieve their desired presentation
Making a statement that was formed from within became an outward expression
Those were the days when they didn’t just stop there,
For the root of their issues could only be found when they were stripped and bare
An internal examination is required for self reflection
By searching their own hearts for the answers to their questions
Remembering that for every finger they point, three more will be headed
Back in their direction
Those were the days when people used more discretion
Back then, the practice to scapegoat was not a major trend,
People knew their lives were not governed by outside influences
The only control they had were the choices they took, that is what determined
How their future would look
Their actions were taken with purpose keeping in mind the consequences
That would follow them from being proactive
And they were always prepared for other people’s reactions
Today is the day we must teach our youth what the man in the mirror really means
Informing them that no one else can disturb their peace and dreams
Unless they allow them to obstruct their view
By mimicking those who block, confront and upstage you
Reassure them that everyone makes their share of mistakes
The quicker you forgive others for the things they do, the quicker
People will dismiss your errors too.
Today is the day to change our perspective of how the world operates
By looking into the mirror and seeing the person whose life is at stake.
