"Every little thing is going to be alright”, in the words of Bob Marley singing Three Little Birds. One of the reasons why I love to vacation in Jamaica, is the peace of the island. I’ve heard “Don’t Worry Mon” a few times while experiencing moments of subtle anxiety, like when I mentioned “Oh no, I forgot my camera” In response the tour guide stated, “No worries Mon, we have you covered.” Sure enough, after the excursion a man who was amongst us in the trees was capturing vivid shots. We were able to review and buy them with a neat tropical border surrounding the picture.
I think of all the times I have worried about how a situation would turn out, and can now smile because they have all worked out somehow. I remember some of the things I have done in my past, the mistakes I have made, and how they have not adversely affected my present state. I can stand on God’s promise “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”- Romans 8:28. Another scripture that provides me comfort in resolving worry and doubt is found in John 16:33 “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” How merciful is our God, which while providing his Holy Spirit to guide us through this world; he allows us to experience trouble and hardships, but offers us his peace and joy in the midst of these difficult times.
Challenges and hard times in life are definitely beneficial to our overall development. We are able to grow and mature, while learning to let go of bad habits. There are some things that we will go through in life that is beyond our own capabilities of repair. I believe in those moments the best thing we can do is to depend solely on God to deliver us from them. Another thing that we can learn during our trials is compassion for others. Having the ability to look inwardly and acknowledge our own faults and flaws. While being able to let go of other people’s offenses because we know that we are capable of committing the same bad behaviors. God is gracious and while we make errors along the way he erases the mistakes we’ve made, As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us- Psalm 103:12; “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” Isaiah 43:25; “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18. I can just picture a big eraser in God’s hand as we move along our path on earth. How great is our God! To all of God’s children in Christ, he wants you to know that every little thing is going to be alright, you are covered by the blood of the Lamb, the Great I Am!
